Wolpoff & Aabramson's representatives call me almost continuously everyday for one week now. They do not spare weekends and call at all hours. If I don't take the calls they leave messages on the voice mail. They threaten me with dire consequences if I don't give in to his demands. I work as a nurse practitioner in a primary health center with meager income to meet my ends. I am scared because I am a single parent having difficulty in living with my present income. I will definitely repay the debt but I need time to repay.

A debt collector allegedly employed by Wolpoff & Abramson calls and leaves voice mails. There is nothing abusive or objectionable in his messages but when I checked with Wolpoff & Abramson
they refuted that they engaged him as their collection agent. This person just leaves his first name and extension number. He calls both my home phone and cell phone. It's been three weeks since he started calling. The calls and messages have not stopped yet. In the mean time I approached an attorney who suggested that I collect all the voice mails. I have been retaining all the voice mails ever since. My attorney even asked em to take this collector's call and engage in conversation to see if it is a genuine case or mistaken identity or plain harassment. I am scared to take his calls because I have heard about so many cases of telephonic harassment.

My debt was already purchased by another collection agency.I was paying it to them through partial payments.Wolpoff people contacted me for the same debt and when I received the claim form I mistook it for another outstanding debt and agreed to pay for the settlement of debt. I got updated bills from the other collection account and immediately informed them. But, they wont let go saying I still have outstanding debt. They are giving me a hard time every single day.I'm ticked off now and looking to report it.How do I start with it?

I just wanted to know, how do I stop their calls?Do they pick people with the same last names from the phonebook? They've been calling my number for almost a six months now, average 3 times a day asking for some other guy with my surname. Its not rocket science.I'm not the David kent and do not know him.Leave me alone..........................

You guys can send them a cease and desist letter requesting for a return receipt. You can contact your state attorneys and tell Wolpoff that you are to sue. That should stop them.I went through weird stuff with these people.I received a letter from Wolpoff that threatened a lawsuit if I did not settle within 10 days.I responded stating that I didn't owe the said debt. So, they kept sending letters. They finally backed off when my cousin, an attorney contacted them.If you don't owe the debt, don't go through hassles. You have every right to report them.
