I owe an amount of $400.00 to Bank of America. I have been paying it off regularly and will complete the payment shortly. However, suddenly I have started getting calls from STA International, Inc. who claim that Bank of America has retained them to collect the debt with extra charges. When I contacted the bank they denied the allegations. I don't want to pay these people but cannot take this harassment any more. I am sure these callers are trying to squeeze money from me illegally. My debt is only of $400.00 but they are demanding $1200.00. Can I contact an attorney and resolve this situation?
