I have been called several times over the past 4 years from these agencies and this last girl took the cake Rachel was her name or so she said. I am not Aswaldo Joseph, the person they are looking for I have told them several times yet I get a RUDE PERSON every time telling me to stop telling them not to call, they will put me on their do not call list yet everytime they do they call the following week. My phone number has been my number for 20 years yet this agency seems to continue to harass me and I don't even owe them money. I would love to sue them is this possible? Time warner has caller ID so I can keep records to how many times they continue to call Omni leave me alone or you will go to court!!!!

i asked what ocs stood for and was told omni credit services.

when i asked if it was a collection agency, the man said he could not disclose that information.

he also asked if i spoke english.
i replied do you speak english? i asked you if this is a collection agency. then i hung up and called the attorney general's office to report ocs.

maybe they are not allowed to confirm that they are a collection agency if they don't know who they are talking to. but asking if i spoke english was completely uncalled for.

They call me three to four times a day. When I ask 'who are you', I get back a 'who are you?'...
Duh??Why call me when you do not know? Finally I called back and asked them to quit calling my number.Oh ok you are not Mel-this was their reply. Then a week later the calls continued. What do I do to stop them from calling?

Question

4. September 2011, 19:51

The informed consumer is the collectors worst enemy. You have the right to hang up on a collector if they are calling the wrong person how many ever times that may be.
Acc to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), 15 U.S.C. § 806. Harassment or abuse 15 USC 1692d (5) Causing a telephone to ring or engaging any person in telephone conversation repeatedly or continuously with intent to annoy, abuse, or harass any person at the called number.
You can tell them they are violating the FDCPA, and are liable to action. If nothing else works, send a cease and desist through certified mail requesting return receipt.

Ok Wade.Howz work going at Omni Credit?
Two things: The first-this and these are two different words.
The second-Their "job" is to collect, not harass.
Why do they call people who dont have debts?
This precisely says its a big scam.

Is there some kind of arbitrage going around in this company?Fake or legit, some kind of scam here. I dont understand I get the same pre-recorded voice each day?automated? When you call back the number you are redirected to a 900 and get charged???The weird thing is they called someone else too in my neighbour hood AND my work and asked for me.They were baffled.I called again to be hung up. Want to talk to me and call others?Totally brilliant.

Im guessing the do not call list doesnt work for them.Someone called at my number(didnt give their name atleast) and said they were trying to get hold of me for the past few months. That was actually the first time I even spoke to them.I myself called them the next time on an extension they identified themselves as OCS. They are asking for a different person. When I told them Im even new to the city and only recently got this number they say sorry we will remove your number then a few days later calls again!Very annoying.

Handle collection calls correctly and they will end up paying you instead.

Read about the FDCPA. No not just a single line of it but everything. Read the statute of limitations, read about recording calls and SWAT them.

If you suspect they've violated laws report them dont stay calm. Half the problems will get solved if consumers know their rights and report them.

I was doing dishes and the phone rang, so I didn't answer it. When I came into the office, the phone had a message on it. "Please call OCS at 800-670-9944 and dial O to reach me." I returned the call and a man said "OCS". I said "Who are you?" "We're OCS" I said "What is that?" He said Omni Credit Services. He said "Is this Linda Sharp? I said no and he said Is Linda Sharp available? I said "Don't know her" He said "Well, who is this?" I said "YOU called me!" and hung up. The phone rang back immediately and I answered and here's what I heard in a very intimidating tone: Yeah, what happened to the phone?" I said What do you mean what happened?" He said "Did you drop the phone or hang up on me??" I said "I hung up on you." He said "Does that mean you don't want to take care of what you owe at ABC Company?" I said "I don't owe anything." Then he started yelling: PAY YOUR BILLS! DO YOU THINK YOU CAN JUST SIT ON THE COUCH WHILE OTHER PEOPLE WORK TO PAY THEIR BILLS? PAY YOUR BILLS! I started to laugh and he said "YOU'RE LAUGHING AT ME???WHY ARE YOU LAUGHING AT ME?" I said "You're funny hahahaha" he said OH YOOU THINK I'M FUNNY, HUH? I said "I think you're hilarious" and he said SO YOU THINK I'M FUNNY... LISTEN, WE'RE GOING TO CALL YOU EVERY DAY UNTIL YOU PAY YOUR BILLS." I just kept laughing and saying "You're so funny!" He finally said "GET OFF MY ASS!" and hung up. Idiot.

Absolute brainless people at Omni Credit Services.Probably why they are in collections?
They call me day in and day out but when i pick up no one answers.

What squash?

26. October 2011, 11:20

I got a call with a hurried and blurred message of urgency to respond back to the number immediately.

Now I understand its for debts.I owe nothing.Yeh.

There is most certainly no reason I can think of to be called for something unless its for some activity on my phone service. I recently got a new one.

Please anyone who actually answered, responded and dealt with them, could you please tell me how do I go about dealing with them??

I just got this new phone number and BAM! calls from omni credit.No. innumerable calls from omni credit. The rudest people on the face of the planet.I'll vouch for it.They are kind of maintaining a schedule too.Calling me at 12 pm and 4pm PST everyday.Oh and by the way I dont owe no one.
They are telling me Im irresponsible cos I dont give my checking account number.Yeah right. The only thing im gonna give them is a complaint.

This is a fraudulent company. First they leave a message asking you to call them back. That probably wont be asking, its threatening with consequences. This way their caller ID can confirm your number when they ask for your name. Also they've switched names many times, now claiming to be Omni. They also give out false information saying they are legal or some stuff. Beware y'all!

I've had the same person call my home over and over again for a debt that was payed off and closed. My credit report shows it and I enquired with the original creditor who says I should not be dealing with Omni credit.

I already told them that the debts been payed off but they continue to call me 5 times a week demanding that I make payments over the phone and fax all the personal information. Yeah right!

Omni Credit Services called us on 12/26/11 in regards to a debt that was cleared on our bankruptcy when it was discharged in March of 2010 (almost 2 years ago). I had to call my attorney's office with Omni's address so they could send them a letter in regards to this. I also called Omni to talk with the agent that called us, guess what, she wasn't even at her desk, hmmmm...have to wonder if she even exists. So I left a message for her to contact my attorney also. I was polited but firm and told Omni that if contacted again, there would be a law suit.

Someone from Omni Credit Services calls my cell repeatedly. When I call back to find out why they are calling they hang up. Very unprofessional and rude. The guys Wade and Rich who posted above. They seem to have all the prerequisites to work at Omni.
