I get calls from Imperial Collections Service for Rebbecca West. I have told them repeatedly that this number did not belong to Rebbecca but they continue to call me on my cell phone and leave messages if I don't take the calls. They normally call once in the morning and once in the evening and ask for Rebbecca. Sometimes they call and hang up but do not speak anything. Though they don't threaten or use abusive language I get disturbed and get nervous when I see their numbers.

I am writing this against Imperial Collection Systems. They had been calling a very ill and disabled gentleman that I take care of,he had told them he did not have any money to spare to pay anyone, he gets assistance with his bills and what little money he has he pays toward medicine and essentials that he needs. They told him he had to pay and he needed to take care of his responsibilities. They were rude to him and when I tried to tell them he was too sick to discuss the issue with them, they got rude with me. I believe if they want to present themselves professionally they should have better people skills with customer service.

I have an old debt that Imperial is collecting on. I have tried to make payment arrangements with them but they refuse. They have been unbelievably rude and abusive. I've been called a liar, a BS'er, and hung up on repeatedly. The supervisors refuse to even speak to me. I told them that I am in a wheelchair and cannot work and am waiting on disability and I live on the $350/month my mom sends me. A guy named Jason told me that I was lying that no one could live on $350/month and that if I could afford a phone I could hustle up the money to pay this debt. Is there a website or any company information available so that I could report them to the BBB?

I have been recently contacted by Imperial Collection Services regarding an old debt. I asked them to provide me with the details about this debt and they inform me that they don't have the details. I informed them that if they will provide me with the details then I will review it and will determine if it is infact a debt that I owe. They informed me that if I don't pay it they will take me to court, and proceeded to get EXTREMELY rude and talked over me. I asked to speak to a supervisor and they hung up on me. I called back and spoke to a supervisor and explained what was going on and the supervisor became rude and talking over me and hung up on me. I called AGAIN and spoke to another supervisor AGAIN he got rude and talked over me so I HUNG UP ON HIM... I WILL NOT PAY SOMEONE JUST BECAUSE THEY SAY I OWE AND WILL NOT PROVIDE PROOF...

I was recently contacted by Imperial about a debt, that is owed i guess from when I was under the age of 18, but they have not ever tried to contact me, and then all of a sudden they have called and blew up my phone and threatening me, and saying they have been in contact with me, i have never received any documentation on the debt, which i find absloutley ridiculous... When i asked to call him back because i was at work, they told me that they where sending it to court, and threatening me, so i hung up!!

I went to open a business bank account yesterday and was told that I had been placed on Chex Systems. After further investigation it was on an account that had already been paid to Wells directly, but they had sold it off to a collection agency. When I contacted Imperial @ 877-519-6039 Jason had demanded my social even though I had the Wells account number. When I refused he got vulger and told me that if I wanted to do business with them that I would comply with his demands. I asked to have a statement sent to me outlining the charges and he refused, again using unacceptable language. Then he demanded my bank card information to pay the balance and when I told him that he needed to send me a statement so that I could pay it with a check he told me that they would see me in court and that my wages would be garnished and I would end up paying them more because of court fees. I filed a complaint with the FTC at www.ftc.gov and would like to see many others do the same thing to stop this malicious company from terrorizing anyone else.

Called this people to pay on a dept that was sold by the original creditor and asked for a statement in writing so I could pay for it but they refused and asked for electronic access to my bank account or a credit card. I delvlined to give them these information, made the initial contact with them but they took it like they are the ones who contacted me. I have to money to pay bit they would bot give any written information on it. I went ahead and filed a complaint with the FTC our states attorney generals office. The are breaking FTC laws right left and center and am recording each call and writing all information relayed over the phone as am ready and willing to sue them. I'd advise all to do the same they will be shut down by the FTC.

I am a caregiver for a handy capped person, she had an account with Wells Fargo, about a year ago a friend had sent her money to help with the bills and after the bank accepted the money two days latershe drew the money out, later the bank contacted her and said the money was no good. to make this short they sold the debt to Imperial who will not work with her to get this resolved. Jason is one of the people that was very rude. They have used false lawyer names to try and scare her into paying. The Federial Trade Commission is very interested in there ways of collection.

I'm glad I seen this site. These folks are true A-holes!......How can they be shut down? I'll add my two-cents to the cause!.....thanks!!

I just got off the phone with these Jerks. I have the flu just recently started a job, I have been contacting all of the collection agencies i owe money to. These Imperial jerks are the only ones who are not willing to work with me who put me down, calling me a thief, that im making excuses to take responsibility, that my mother should have raised me to pay off my debts.. It was seriously brutal. When i told her to lose her attitude Mrs. Bowmen told me if i wanted customer service i should have payed off my debt sooner. They said i am being charged interest because they have a right to add interest on my "closed account". I Really want her Fired for her rude mean attitude. I was so shaken up after our phone call. ANd she Hung up on me and threaten me. She said she has my social and she is going to use it against me.

Liz

11. April 2011, 15:35

These idiots are still calling me. The last time they called I told them, "No, I'm not talking to you. I've begged you to take my money and you continue to refuse so just stop calling." They said that the sheriff would show up at my door and take me, wheelchair and all. A guy named Jason asked me if I lived on such a low income how did I buy food. When I said I get food stamps he said, "Well then that means that I buy your food and I want some of my tax dollars back!" I've paid over half the debt. I'm just not messing with them anymore. I either don't offer them enough money or I can't get it to them quick enough. Now they're saying that they will garnish my husband's disability check if necessary. I've had it. Let 'em do their worst.

16. May 2011, 05:10

I contacted the FTC and found out that Imperial is a scam. The last time I spoke with Imperial, I told them that I wanted verification of the debt. They told me that they could not send me verification of the debt until I set up a payment. lol. That was over a month ago. Today I got a letter from them in the mail. The return address was in Overland Park, KS. The postmark was Las Vegas, NV......3 states away. LOL!!!!! DO NOT SEND THESE PEOPLE ANY MONEY!!!!! THEY ARE A SCAM. THIS IS WHY THEY REFUSE TO ACCEPT PAYMENTS BY MAIL...MONEY ORDERS ARE TRACEABLE.

I too have been subjected to down right rude and unprofessional behavior by employees of Imperial>They lie through their teeth

6. June 2011, 01:31

I am apauled to read the comments above. THE EXACT SAME THING has happened to me. I want to pay this debt so I can get it off my credit and buy a house but they will not send me validation of the debt and will not accept monthly payments. The original balance I owed was $200 and they are trying to say I owe $1000+. They also threatened to attach my wages and take me to court. Let them try. I am filing a complaint as well.

MelT

13. June 2011, 02:13

This company keeps calling. I have told them I do not have any spare monies as I am very ill and on disability. They are making me worse as I am suppose to not have stress in my life. I pray for people like this as I do not know what else to do.

Catherine

14. June 2011, 04:14

This company is bad... I SEARCHED THEM OUT to pay an old debt with USBank... Once i have gotten ahold of them, they demanded everything at once.. I had only a portion of it at the moment, and asked to pay that. They said they would debt my account for the amount i had, and 3 days later will take out the rest of the ammount... I have requested a receipt 4 times now, and have yet to see one. The only Plus is that its reported to the credit beuro that its paid.

Steve

28. June 2011, 15:08

I also have recieved numerous phone calls from Imperial. The debt in reference is supposedly around $2000, but when I asked for legal proof of the debt (as required by law) so that I could figure up how to pay it back, I got rerouted to someone named Jason, who proceeded to yell at me an insult me and eventually hung up on me, all while I tried to explain that the last statement that the debt is related to is 2 years old, and the amount difference is $1400 less than what they are telling me I owe...

Terrible company. If they want money, they're going to have to take me to court. End of story.

BILL DUNNING

23. July 2011, 16:07

Bill Dunning sounds like he just might be related to “Charles DoLittle” who I had the pleasure of listening to this afternoon. I was at home very ill with bronchitis when my phone awoke me. When I said, “Hello” I was greeted by a message that just said to call 1-877-497-2280 and ask to speak to Charles DooLittle by 5 pm to receive an important message. I called the number immediately and the first thing that was said to me was, “BOBBY, WHERE IS KAREN?” Even though I definitely was not Bobby I allowed him to continue. He demanded to know where Karen was. (Karen is my daughter.) I told him as far as I know she is in Florida and I live in Kentucky. He then demanded to know how he could get in touch with her. Since there was no way I was going to tell him where she was, I told him I had no idea. He proceeded to inform me that I must not love her much or I would know how to contact her. He also informed me that I must not have raised her right or she would not be in this shape in the first place. I told him to never call this number again and he said he would call whenever he wanted. I hung up with him still ranting.

28. July 2011, 11:14

All of the above has happened to my husband and I. WE sought them out now that we are in a place financially to be able to go ahead and pay outstanding debts. They are a bunch of arrogant jerks. I have now filed a complaint with the FTC and I will also file a complaint with the NC Attorney General. DO NOT GIVE THEM MONEY. They MUST supply you with written confirmation of your debt!

Sonia Dubois

29. July 2011, 04:29

J,
Bill Dunning IS related to Charles DoLittle or whatever. Anyway, guy, you are right to an extent. We've got to pay our bills. But, what if they are not ours to pay? How does checking and calling the right person sound?

Ed

30. July 2011, 19:36

BEWARE!!!!

They are arrogant and rude. I paid off my debt. Did not receive any notification that this debt had been paid. They didn't update my address. And did not report this as paid off. I am now having to dispute this with Chexsystems and the credit bureau. Make sure that you do not let them over talk you, get names! This was my worst experience trying to actually pay off a debt that I never received one notice on until they tried to garnish my wages. I will be filing a formal complaint.

RB

2. August 2011, 14:51

Something fishy here.I do not owe any debt that I know of!I was yelled at, called a liar, blah, blah for asking a proof of my debt. They send they sent letters(which they did not). This person "Max" hung up on me. Well, what do you know, I called up again demanding an explanation only to be hung up on again. Some nerve, eh??
If I get one more of these "You will call us back" calls,I'm SUING them!

From US Code1692c:
(c) Ceasing communication
If a consumer notifies a debt collector in writing that the consumer refuses to pay a debt or that the consumer wishes the debt collector to cease further communication with the consumer, the debt collector shall not communicate further with the consumer with respect to such debt, except—
(1) to advise the consumer that the debt collector’s further efforts are being terminated;
(2) to notify the consumer that the debt collector or creditor may invoke specified remedies which are ordinarily invoked by such debt collector or creditor; or
(3) where applicable, to notify the consumer that the debt collector or creditor intends to invoke a specified remedy.
If such notice from the consumer is made by mail, notification shall be complete upon receipt.

I paid my debt many months ago and have yet to receive any documentation saying that I did so. I went to the bank to open a new checking account figuring that I would be clear to do so, but no! The bank and I have been hounding Imperial for 3 days straight to send us an email stating that my debt is paid so I would be able to send that to chexsystem to be clear. They kept saying it was sent, so I gave them a new email to send it to and the man told me he had just sent it while on the phone with him. Stupid me for believing him, because I have yet to receive anything!! Although I will personally say they have not been verbally rude to me at all, but thats the only good thing I can say about that company. Somebody needs to do something asap!!!

Matt

5. August 2011, 23:59

NEVER ever pay a third party debt collection agency.ALWAYS pay the company/bank you owe directly and sort it out with them.I'm making it sound oh-so-dramatic, but its true. Usually the company you owe gives a solution on the debt and proofs. Trust me on this, I've dealt with Imperial two months ago, ran around chexsystems and finally went to my bank directly and payed it to them.I did get bugged again with calls, but thats about it-I'm not taking them, let them do what they want.Do not want to hear the word Imperial again.

11. August 2011, 08:44

Before it was my home line. Now, its on my mobile.Fifteen different numbers now.Grrr they call and make threats....The calls are from Thomas Richardson(yeah right). When I call back and complain its usually unending silence or they hang uo(???)The last time I checked, they are not BBB credited.Do they even have the license to collect the debt? They are brass enough to ask my personal information time and again after specifying so many times that I do not owe any debt!!!!These guys need to get a grip.I'm not far away from reporting it.

Angry Person

24. August 2011, 12:32

I got a voice mail from them literally five minutes ago asking me to call back at 5.30 CST. Of course, after reading these, you can be sure, I'm never calling these people back.

Mel

28. August 2011, 21:42

Hey they have so many toll-free numbers and use soooo many names.Automated voice mail. When I asked the name this guy said it real fast and gave some rotten name.Uh huh yeah??You give fake names and want our real names? They've gone as far as giving death threats.Low lifes asked for my SS number, name and address, and asked me to pay with credit card over phone, and that the bill will be higher by tomorrow with an increased interest and penalty.

I told him no credit card since five years, and if I could pay any other way. He said it was not a bank and hung up on me!!!I called back again and again to be denied of talking to the supervisor. A scam huh?The next time I'm called there's going to be a lot of blasting.

2. September 2011, 23:54

Last I heard, they are in huge trouble with legal cases.Hmm I already sent them a cease and desist. They were calling me from diff call back numbers were rude and went into attack mode.Terrible company this!

Barney

8. September 2011, 13:30

they call me every morning for a debt my son created a few years ago. Today i had not one but two of the agents tell me if i had raised my son properly they wouldnt be calling. they refuse to take my number off the list.

toni pease

9. September 2011, 10:05

Umm did you check if the statute of limitations has expired in your state? If the debt you are talking about is 'quite old' then it may very well have expired.
www.yourcollectionrights.com/.../...-Statutes.aspx
Also if your name is listed as a reference for your son, they would try all the tactics to get to his information. But, they cannot disclose his debt related information to you, that would be a clear violation of the FDCPA.
The first thing you can do is start a journal-make a note every time they call you.
Inform them that they are breaking the law and do intend to file a lawsuit. That should clear things up.

12. September 2011, 20:12

I received a call from Imperial Agency. The person didn't tell me their name but went straight into a speech about me owing their client money. I asked who the client was because I have only been dealing with the creditors not the collection agency. They informed me and told me an outrageous balance. I tried to get the guy's name but he ignored it and asked me to set up a payment schedule. I told him that I have not had constant employment but I was paying places as I got money (and I mentioned that two of the credit card places removed their interest so that they could receive their amount in full). I asked if his clients received the money. He said that his clients do not accept my money orders. I asked what happened to them if they aren't putting them towards my balance. He said that I need a checking, savings, or some kind of prepaid card. I repeated again what happened to the money orders if they aren't put on my balance and then, why a balance went from $400 to $1700. He said that he is willing to make arrangements for the remaining balance. I told him that since he did not introduce himself and the money orders are not being cashed and put on my balance. . .why should I make further arrangements until I know everything is legit? He said that the client wanted their money and I had 3 options to pay it. Obviously, they don't want to work with me. Furthermore, he did not have the correct info or balance. He became upset and said something crass before he hung up on me.

(I got the company name because he said that I owed "them" and I asked who "them" was.)

13. September 2011, 13:06

I don't know if you are familiar with the mini miranda. Acc to it a they should reveal their identity and the purpose of their call. Anyway, I would suggest you not to make any payments through the phone or give out any personal information unless you want your account swiped clean. You are ready yo pay and whatever means you want to do so should be fine. The money orders are a good option. But please do ask the credit company directly if you owe the said amount and if you can pay it back directly to them. If yes take proofs that you are making payment to the creditor. If you've got to pay to the collection agency that is Imperial, even then take proofs.Money orders or anything else dont settle for verbal agreements.Take everything in writing.

I'm Donald too

18. September 2011, 16:48

Imperial collection services or so they said. They contacted me regarding a debt to a bank for $2540.I disputed the debt within a month exactly by certified mail and asking for a return receipt.I also stated clearly in the letter that they were not to add any other fee or interest to the amount. Now, after not hearing from them for a while they sent a letter saying I failed to respond to their previous notice and the balance has now mounted to $2721!!!How can I proceed with this? When I already did respond how do I prove that now?Should I write back and let them know I disputed the debt within time? They go into attack mode every time. Any advice to this issue?

Jodie

23. September 2011, 01:15

DO you have a copy of the letter?Did you dispute the amount of debt within 30 days of their initial contact? If you have, they are clearly obligated to stop collection and further contact with you. If you disputed the debt, you are stating that the debt is not yours and asking for any kind of validity. After receiving the letter, either they must cease all contact or provide you with written proof of the debt.

The debt collector must then report the debt as “in dispute” to the credit bureaus with which he works. Also your debt in dispute will remain in your credit history until the debt collector provides you with proof that you owe it and that the amount of the debt is accurate.

An attorney can give a proper/suitable answer as to whether you should write back to them.Consult one in your state to tackle them-do it in time.

I had my checks stollen while in the hospital. I notified the bank at once. Now the bill went from zero due to $3000. STIII GOING UP. They refuse to correct the bill. They call my 85year parents and tell them I am going to jail and my children are being put in child protection. And we will never see them again. My yoingest is now 30. They demand my parent get my banking info and have it ready 4them when they call. They call at7am and 10pm. They refuse to give the address or real phone number
They cuss at us. They yell they tell us if they don't get the bankinginfo I am going to jail. When did debtors prisons come back? This bill isover seven years of fighting with them.

26. September 2011, 02:58

My sister recently received a call stating she owed my husband's company money and demanded that she pay right away. My sister then told Rebecca that she didn't owe any money and that it was her brother-in-law. She called me and told me what happened and I called them - they denied stating this and that they were trying to get a hold of my husband on an old account from Bank of America. Then they called her WORK - how they got this is beyond me, and told her work they were going to garnish her wages on an account she never was associated with. Then I called them again and I asked for their address and they wouldn't give it to me. I asked them how was I suppose to pay them if I didn't have their address. Then my husband got on the line and they cussed him out. I am going to turn them in too. This company is definitely a scam.

Karen

26. September 2011, 05:18

FYI to all Bill Dunning is so full of it. They CANNOT garnish your wages without a court order. They cannot harrass you at work unless you tell them it is ok. I would suggest that if you speak to any one of those scums - record it! They like to swear at you, and talk down to you. I learned that the supervisor lets this go on. By the way BBB does not have these scum bags listed. It states they are out of business. Please make sure that you DO NOT pay them by credit card and it is by law that you get documentation from them as to what account is owed, how much and get an attorney to represent you if need be. Let them talk to your attorney.

Know Your Rights

27. September 2011, 15:50

To Joan, who the hell is that collector who said your are going to Jail? There are innumerous violations of the FDCPA here. As per Federal Law One:They cannot threaten/yell/cuss at you..Two: Nobody can be sent to jail for non-payment of debts. A debt collector can only sue-no "jails" here. Three: They cannot call before 8am or after 9pm. Four: Check the statute of limitations in your state. If the debt is seven years old, it should have passed they can no more collect from you unless you accept you owe the debt(Its usually four or five years in each state)
Address:550 East Plumb Lane
Reno, NV 89502
Contact: (775) 825-8822
Not giving out your banking/personal info is a good step.A third party debt collector cannot be trusted. Have you tried asking the bank to close the account? That will stop the increasing bill.In any case if they resort to similar practices like this, tell them you have notified your attorney and are to sue.

Found their number in our incoming logs. Looks like they tried to call numerous times but it never rang any of the home numbers. Im guessing they use an automated dialer.I worl in telecom, so programmed the entire system to put off telemarketing calls and similar. Good thing.
Anyway doesnt matter now a few of their numbers *not all sadly* are in the permanently blacklisted file considering all of the comments over here.

4. October 2011, 23:12

The calls we got are identical to some written here. So my question is with so many complaints and scams why hasnt the ftc or some other bureau/agency shut them down???
They call every other day and this guy who calls me has so many aliases!but the same voice is haunting me. He calls 7-8 times and within days of each call (as if you wont remember a voice with a different name?). He asks for a Delacour guy and I deny knowing. He asks me the whereabouts. This cycle keeps running which has now turned to yelling. Obviously something didnt feel right and I even called back to talk to the Supervisor but the line just keeps ringing. They must have a robo calls set up.Its making the block number app a waste of time.I do not owe anyone I do not know these people Im trying to put a dent in their calls.
Who else is up for a trip to Reno with a baseball bat?

J Scott

8. October 2011, 07:05

The calls im getting from imperial nuts are irritating as hell!Honestly why do you call a person and stay silent???Its either that or weirdo accents that get weirder every time.I tried to ignore them for a few days wasnt working. Then today I get a call from someone "whoz name is very hard to understand".This time he says we need to wrap up things. Told him thats exactly what I want and gave a call back. The woman who answered wouldnt transfer my call but said they were calling for some one named Elizabeth who gave our name as contact. Told them no idea who she is..I told them not to call me anymore.Any one getting similar calls or for the same person?

Stop the calls

16. October 2011, 10:56

Good lord, these people need a new job. There's an alert for their business!!Bunch of dimwits and misfits.Instead of trying to take out their frustration on a faceless person on the phone may be y'all at imperial can try and get real jobs.

Wrong person

18. October 2011, 21:36

I hope ur wages are garnished for those of you who are working. You call us lowlifes and scumbags but we have jobs you dont. And FYI you can be garnished up to 25 percent and 35 percent for government benefits (disability and social security) I know I do it everyday all day. Stop with the damn excuses and pay it. Saying I don't have money will not get them to stop. Collection agencies are not scams and you're not our customers so we don't need to show customer service. The companies you owe money to are our customers we work for them. Not you.

The real reason they want account info for payment is because it provides secured payment history on your account. It is also stated in the contact with the original creditor that if we do collect we must show consecutive promises to pay. The only we can get you DEBTORS to pay is through a checking acct because we are contracted to do so. And the creditor gave you DEBTORS plenty ways to pay and you didn't do any. We only have to send something in writing once a quarter( thats every 3 months) so stop stuffing them I a shoe box and start reading them and just because you write a letter does not provide proof your bill is paid and certainly doesn't stop interest accurring on the account. The creditor adds the interest not us so we can't stop it. You all think we're the bad guys but if you DEBTORS knew what the creditors say about you, you would be calling them names not us. And suporvisors are collectors too so talking to them is useless because its not gonna help you get out of paying and they tell us what to say. I should know because I'm one of them

Cut the crap bill collector. If you have a perfect life and no one's calling you why the hell are you responding to the comments? Why would you want other's wages garnished?May be someone needs to pray yours gets too. Just FYI people dont choose not to pay bills and ruin their credit. Some get extremely ill, some get laid off, some don't even owe the said debt. Oh dont rejoice that day is not far when you lose that "job" of yours. You talk like there's no frauds going on within the collection agencies, Thats right you should know, you are one of them. Taking most of the payments and selling the debts off to other agencies, clearing the checking accounts.Been there, done that?

Not everyone is giving excuses. With attitudes like yours there's no respite for people. Exactly why the FDCPA came out. A breather. You should learn a little more about it and stop blaming the creditors. They are not the ones who harass, you people do.

"And supervisors are collectors too so talking to them is useless because its not gonna help you get out of paying and they tell us what to say." Dont lie.Once a complaint or two reaches a supervisor or higher you are doomed for good. You know that.

This is exactly whats happening. There are things people dont know and you'd much rather they dont, you rely on the ignorance of the debtor so most tactics are used on them.

Do you have any written agreements?Personally I figure, collection agencies rarely keep their word. Its not a bad idea to send them a letter yourself informing them of your final payment outlining your agreement via certified mail asking for a return receipt of course so that they verify the same.Should the matter come up again, the letter will save you from trouble, and it'll keep them from selling off your debt to another agency(yeah that happens). There's no reason in the world they cannot type in a 5-min letter. I would say pursue them until you get that letter of yours. If they don't demand it, it should serve you as a warning.
